Cornell alum in trouble?

Posted by Oliver Renick on February 8, 2009

Cornell alum, original editor-in-chief of Cornell Review, and long time far-right icon Ann Coulter is now in trouble for possibly violating voting laws by voting in Connecticut while living in New York. The situation was exposed by both coulterwatch.com‘s Daniel Borchers and webofdeception.com‘s private investigator Joe Culligan.

What seems interesting though, is the case of Borchers. I don’t know much about him, but he says that his mission is to expose the “corruption, extremism, and hypocrisy which has invaded the Right.” In order to do this, he has created a website to monitor the actions of Ann Coulter, the centerpiece of this corruption and disgrace. Though I do not like Coulter’s abrasive tactics and unshakable allegiance to the extreme Right, and I support Borcher’s claim to restore “conservative principles and ideals, goals and behavior,” it appears that Borcher has neglected his original goal in exchange for coming out on top of a petty war between himself and Coulter. After all, busting Coulter with a housing and voting ordeal, whether it occurred with malicious intent or not, ultimately has nothing to do with dismantling her or her follower’s political ideologies.

Borcher claims to align himself as a Christian conservative, but only displays disdain for the current Republican party via sweeping statements on his website. On his other website, brotherwatch.com, he has two biographies – of Ronald Reagan and Alan Colmes. (?). Borchers furthers his self-proclamation of a conservative by advertising his society, Citizens for Principled Conservatism (CPC), but I cannot find any record of the organization, and his website link doesn’t work; instead it links to an automated ad page where you can, ironically, sign up for Ann Coulter emails and notifications.

  1. Why would she vote in Connecticut anyways? Puzzling.

The answer’s easy Dennis: She didn’t. It’s a lie. There is not enough solid evidence for me to believe it is true. Not saying I’m a huge fan of Coulter’s , but it just doesn’t seem plausible at this point.

  3. [...] Least appreciated Cornell alum in hot water over technicality: Ann Coulter voted in Connecticut while living in New York. In other news, no one really cares. [Cornell Insider] [...]
